IN-PERSON PD – Coding using the Edison Robot (Grades 5-6)

January 20 @ 1:00 pm - 3:15 pm

IN- PERSON PD: Edison is a versatile, Lego-compatible robot that sparks creativity and innovation in students. In this session, participants will explore how Grade 5–6 students can use Edison’s sensors, programming tools, and Lego  to design inventive solutions to real-world challenges.  In this PD, you will:

  • Code Edison by sequencing barcodes to navigate mazes and complete other challenges
  • Code Edison using EdScratch, a block-based language similar to Scratch but designed specifically for Edison.  We will be designing and coding Edisons to compete in a sumo challenge

All activities connect directly to the ELA, Math, Science, and Arts Education curricula, providing meaningful and engaging learning experiences that combine creativity, problem-solving, and computational thinking.
